Robert “Bob” Black

Robert “Bob” Black, 57, of LeClaire, Iowa, died Saturday, July 15, 2006 at Pathway Hospice, Trinity Terrace Park, Bettendorf, Iowa. Celebration of Life Services will be 10:00 A.M., Monday, July 17, 2006 at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport. Visitation was 1:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. Sunday, July 16th at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery, LeClaire, Iowa. Memorials may be made to Gilda’s Club of the Quad Cities or to the Davenport IsaacWalton League.

Bob was born July 19, 1948 in Butler, Pennsylvania the son of Robert V. and Reva Jean (Cole) Black. He married Linda Freudenberg and Robin Hamilton. He married Pamela Sweazey on April 16, 1988 in Bettendorf, Iowa.

Mr. Black owned and operated Quad City Water Treatment in LeClaire, Iowa for 28 years. He held memberships in numerous environmental clubs. He was a member of Gilda’s Club of the Quad Cities. He was a member of the Baha’i Faith and made several pilgrimages to the Holy Land. He served on the Board of Trustees for Mt. St. Claire College and Franciscan University in Clinton, Iowa.

He had a tremendous appreciation for the environment and was an avid toy tractor collector.

Survivors include his wife, Pam; daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Jeff Kritta of Centerville, Minnesota and daughter, Jennifer Lambert of Tucson, Arizona; a step son and daughter in law, Eric and Julie Van Hese of Davenport, Iowa; granddaughter, Alexandria Van Hese and grandson Christopher Van Hese of Davenport, Iowa; his father, Robert V. Black of Crystal River, Florida; a sister, Christine Chesser of Riverview, Florida and a sister and brother in law, Becky and Christopher Peery of Paducah, Kentucky; Aunt Wanda Strelow of Bettendorf, Iowa: Uncles Roger and Sharen Cole of DeWitt, Iowa, Norman and Joyce Cole of Silvis, Illinois, Raymond and Frances Black of Butler, Pennsylvania and Donald and Cleoria Black of Butler, Pennsylvania.

He is preceded in death by his mother, and grandparents, Frank and Leota Black of Butler, Pennsylvania and Clarence and Zelda Cole of Butler Pennsylvania and two uncles, Wesley Cole of Butler, Pennsylvania and Frank Black, Jr. of Davenport, Iowa.
