ROCK FALLS, Ill. — Gary R. “Cable Gary” Carlsen, 61, of Rock Falls, died Saturday at CGH Medical Center, Sterling, Ill.
Burial with military rites will be in Coloma Township Cemetery.
He was born Sept. 2, 1944, in Clinton to William R. and Kathryn Roe Carlsen. He married Cynthia Schwartz on March 24.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
He worked with Insight Communions, Rock Falls.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Colleen Baker of Florida; one son, Garrett Carlsen of New Jersey; sisters, Maureen (Jeff) Hansen of Cedar Hill, Texas, Kathryn (Boby) Ryner of Camanche and Lisa and Randy Carlsen of Mantorville, Minn.; brothers, Dennis (Karen) Carlsen of Camanche and Marty (Melissa) Hill of Clinton; and two grandchildren.
Memorials may be made in his name to a charity of the donor’s choice.
He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother and one brother.
