James R. “Bob” Brundage

Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Calvary Lutheran Church. Law-Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church with Pastor Robert Krueger officiating.

SABULA — James R. “Bob” Brundage, 80, of Sabula, died Saturday at Mercy Medical Center, Dubuque.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Sabula.

He was born July 19, 1925, in Iowa City to Walter and Thelma Tracy Brundage. He married Isabelle Mangler on Nov. 22, 1944.

He served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He worked as a brakeman with the Milwaukee and Soo Line railroads before retiring after 35 years.

He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Sabula; American Legion Post 74, Sabula; Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen; and National Association of Retired Veteran Railway Employees.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Dan “Beno” Brundage of Sabula; four daughters, Sandra (Jack) Kempter of Sabula, Kathy (Dick) Schoenhaar of Savanna, Ill., Tanya (Denny) Heintz of Fairfax and Kristi (Dan) Johnson of Sabula; 22 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Bruce (Ruth) Brundage of Germany and Victor (Betty) Brundage of Sabula.

Memorials may be given in his name to Calvary Lutheran Church, Sabula.

He was preceded in death by two sons, two grandchildren; two brothers and one son in-law.
