The Clinton Herald Saturday December 4, 1926 p. 8 Mrs. Anna Ehlers Eggers passed away during the night of December 3 at her home, 505 North Third street. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock at the home, Tuesday. She was born in Germany, March 16, 1852, and came to America with her parents when but 15 years of age. She was married 53 years ago May 9 to Peter Eggers, who died three years ago in March. All her life in America was passed on a farm northwest of Lyons until 1911 when the family moved to town. Eleven children were born to them, all left to mourn the morther, Jacob, Hans, Peter, Claus, Gus, Mrs. J.L. Harksen, Hulda, Mrs. Walter Wessel, Mrs. William Stamp, Herman and Arthur. There are 32 grandchildren. Mrs. Eggers was the last of a family of six brothers and one sister in the Ehlers family.
