THE CLINTON HERALD - Sat. July 24, 1920 Funeral Services for Mrs. D. Dierks Mrs. Detlef Dierks, aged 75 years died Friday afternoon at 5 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Gustave Ladehoff, 1101 Main Street, following an illness of several years duration. The funeral will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Ladehoff residence with Rev. Hugo Grimm of St. John's Lutheran Church officiating. Internment will be in the Dierks cemetery. Margaret Ehlers was born in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, Sept. 7 1844. In 1865 she came to Clinton County and May 26, 1866, was united in marriage with Detlef Dierks. Mr. Dierks passed away eleven years ago yesterday. To this union seven children were born, two passed away in infancy and six years ago a daughter Mrs. Henry Pahl died. The survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Gustave Ladehoff, three sons, Hans Dierks of Clinton, John Dierks of Lyons and Herman Dierks residing West of Lyons. Also nineteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. One sister, Mrs. Peter Eggers of Clinton and two brothers, Peter Ehlers of Lyons and Claus Ehlers of Dinsdale, the latter arriving here yesterday morning.
