The Clinton Herald Thursday January 25, 1996 p. 9 Gertrude M. Eggers, 72, of 2326 Lafayette Terrace, died Wednesday at her home. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Wayne Brinkmann officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Pape Funeral Home, and from 9 a.m. until the service hour Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Arnold Banker, Michael Jennings, Reynold Platt and Dean, Eugene and Wayne Eggers. Mrs. Eggers was born Jan. 25, 1923, in Clinton, to Luke and Mary Ehrensberger Clarkson. She married Leonard E. Eggers, May 3, 1941, in Preston. He died in December of 1994. She was a graduate of Preston High School. She was a sorter at Nielsen's for 20 years, retiring in 1986. She and her husband also farmed in the Bryant area for 15 years. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and enjoyed camping and fishing. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Steven (Susan) Kohrt of Clinton, and Mrs. John (Trude) Leonard of St. Louis, Mo.; four sons, Gary of LeClaire, Warren of Clinton, and Rovert and Thomas, both of St. Louis, Mo.; nine grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a brother, Vernon Clarkson of Preston; and two half sisters, Mrs. William (Sharon) McKeoun of Sterling, and Pat Foote of Tampe, Fla. Death date: Jan. 24, 1996
