The Clinton Herald March 3, 1986 p. 12 Peter A. Eggers, 72, of 2308 N. 8th St., died Saturday in Mercy Hospital. The funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Pape Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Lemons, Lyons United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Pallbearers wil be Wayne, Eugene and Warren Eggers, Steven Peasley, Carl H. Johnson, and Arthur Burke. Mr. Eggers was born May 16, 1913, in Andover, to Hans and Emma Joens Eggers. He was a farmer in the Miles and Preston area until 1964 and retired fromthe Iowa State Department of Transportation in 1978. He married Mildred Lohmeier, Nov. 26, 1948, in Dixon, Ill. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of Lyons United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Terry (Sheila) Smith of Clinton; a grandson; three brothers, Clifford, Raymond and Leonard, all of Clinton; and a sister, Mrs. Harold (Erma) Jorgensen of Cedar Rapids. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
