The Clinton Herald Monday December 12, 1966 p. 15 Mrs. Julia Marie Svendsen Eggers, 85, died Sunday evening in her home on Route 3. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Pape funeral home, where visitation begins at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Rev. James Huff, pastor of Lyons Baptist church, will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery. Pallbearers will be Peter H. and Alfred E. Petersen, Harry Fanger, William Ziesche, Leroy Pretz and Robert Lee. Mrs. Eggers was born Dec. 31, 1880 in Bryant, the daughter of Capt. Edward and Caroline Rieff Svendsen. She was married to Claus A. Eggers, Dec. 27, 1910, in Bryant. She was graduated from State College of Iowa and taught in Clinton county, Spencer, and Tacoma, Wash., schools. Surviving are one daughter, Lydia at home; two sons, Paul at home and Harold of Houston, Tex.; and one grandson. Her parents, one son, one daughter, four sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.
