The Clinton Herald Monday August 13, 1973 p. 8 Mrs. Claus (Rose B.) Eggers, 92, 2445 Camanche Ave., died at 12:25 p.m. Saturday at Jane Lamb Hospital after a lingering illness. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Shadduck-Cannon Funeral Home with the Rev. Daniel Mohr of Zion Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Coggon Cemetery, Coggon. Visitation is being held at the funeral home, where a memorial service was held Sunday night by the Friendship Committee, Women of the Moose. Born July 15, 1881, in Macomb, Ill., she was the daughter of John and Amanda Newman. She married James Marburger in 1900 at Green Island. He died July 4, 1936. She married Claus Eggers Dec. 26, 1945, in Chicago, Ill. She attended Macomb schools and was a 25-year member of Women of the Moose 474. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Caldwell, Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Vic (Leona) Witte, Houston, Tex., and Mrs. Harley (Almeda) Wright, San Clemente, Calif. two sons, Leroy Marburger, Austin, Tex., and James Marburger, Mineral, Calif. two step-sons, Paul Eggers, Clinton, and Harold Eggers, Houston, Tex.; one step-daughter, Lydia Eggers, Clinton; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, one son, one daughter, one brother, and one sister.
