The Clinton Herald Tuesday November 18, 1947 p. 10 Hans Eggers, 72, of 2224 Pershing boulevard, died Monday evening in his home after several months illness. The body is in the Shadduck funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in St. John's Lutheran church. The Rev. Paul H. Burgdorf, pastor of St. John's Lutheran church, and officiate. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery. Born Aug. 16, 1875, in Hampshire township, he was the son of Peter and Anna Eggers. He was married to Emma Joens in 1904 and farmed in Hampshire township until 1940, whe, he moved tp Clinton. He was a member of the Lutheran church. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Harold Jorgensen, Clinton; four sons, Clifford, Peter and Raymond, Clinton; Leonard, Preston; four brothers, Peter, Claus, Herman, all of Clinton; Gus, Long Beach, Calif.; four sisters, Mrs. Walter Wessel, Mrs. J.L. Harksen, Mrs. Pauline Stamp, all of Clinton, and Mrs. Hulda Jane Tholen, Chicago, and nine grandchildren. His wife, one son, three children in infancy, and two brothers preceded him in death.
