The Clinton Herald Tuesday June 10, 1947 p. 9 Andover - John Eggers, 73, of near Andover, died at 12:05 a.m. today in Jane Lamb hospital, where he had been a patient a week. The body is in the Shadduck funeral home, Clinton, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, the Rev. F.E. Schoenbohm, pastor of Zion Lutheran church, Clinton, officiating. Burial will be in Dierks' cemetery, west of Clinton. Mr. Eggers, son of Jurgen and Catherine Eggers, was born in the Andover community, Dec. 16, 1873, and had spent most of his life farming. He was married to Miss Eva Everhart, March 6, 1901. Surviving are the widow, one son, LeRoy Eggers of near Andover; two grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Ernest Kunau of Miles, and Miss Emma Eggers of Clinton; three brothers, Gerald, August and Emil, all of Clinton, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter in infancy, a sister, Mrs. Johannes Greve; a brother, Henry, and a brother in infancy.
