The Clinton Herald Friday July 24, 1953 p. 11 Mrs. Helena Eggers, 83, of Andover, died at 7:30 a.m. today in the home of a daughter, Mrs. Leslie Struve of Hauntown, after a hip injury received in a fall about five weeks ago. She had been a patient in Savanna, Ill., City hospital. Funeral services have been set tentatively for Monday afternoon in Faith Lutheran church, Andover. The body will be taken Saturday from the Shadduck funeral home, Clinton, to the Struve residence. The former Helen Stoltenberg was born July 11, 1870, near Bryant to the late Antoine and Margaret Stoltenberg. She spent her entire life in the Andover vicinity and was a member of Faith Lutheran church. In November, 1891, she was married to Henry Eggers, who died in 1942. Surviving are 10 children, Mrs. Carl (Lillian) Lange, John J., Edward, Mrs. Arnold (Viola) Struve, Henry, Mrs. Leslie (Alta) Struve, Herman and Mrs. Kamm (Vernetta) Smith, all of Andover, Albert of Teeds Grove and Ernest of Sabula; 24 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Herman and Otto of Mason City, Albert of Schleswig, Iowa, and seven sisters, Mrs. Anna Peters, Mrs. Paulina Ronnfelt, both of Clinton, Mrs. William Wverhardt, Mrs. Charles Crapser, Mrs Otto Stoltenberg, all of Mason City, Mrs. Thomas Brockel of Goodrich, N.D., and Mrs. Thomas Foell of Rockwell City. Two grandchildren also preceded her in death.
