The Clinton Herald Tuesday January 6, 1942 p. 8 Henry Eggers, Sr., 73, long time resident of the Andover community, died at 6:45 a.m. today in Jane Lamb hospital, Clinton. The body reposes in the Shadduck funeral home, Clinton. It will be taken to the home in Andover, Thursday morning, and will be returned to the funeral home Friday morning where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Geo. W. Krueger of Zion Lutheran church Clinton will officiate and burial will be in Andover cemetery. Henry J. Eggers was born Nov. 17, 1868, in Hampshire township, and his entire life was spent in the Andover community. He married Helen Stoltenberg Nov. 18, 1891, in the old town of Lyons. They observed their golden wedding anniversary Nov. 18, 1941. He served for several years as an Elk River township trustee. He was a member for 35 years of Elk River lodge, 162, I.O.O.F. He was prominent in both Andover and Teeds Grove communities. He and his wife retired from farming in 1924 and since made their home in Andover. He is survived by his wife, 10 children, 25 grandchildren, one great grandchild, four brothers and two sisters. One sister, Mrs. Johannes Greve, preceded him in death. His children are Mrs. Lillian Lange, John J., Edward A., Mrs. Viola Struve, Henry, Jr., Mrs. Alta Struve, Herman, and Mrs. Vernetta Smith, all of Andover; Albert of Teeds Grove and Ernest of Miles. Surviving brothers are August, Jerry and Emil of Clinton and John of Teeds Grove and Miss Emma Eggers of Clinton.
