The Clinton Herald Monday October 1, 1934 p. 7 Funeral services for Mrs. Catherina Eggers, 82, who died in her home, 2317 North Eighth street, Sunday morning, will be held at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in the Shadduck funeral home. The body now reposes in the Eggers home, and will remain there until some time Wednesday morning. Burial will be in Dierks cemetery. Catherina Dierks was born Dec. 2, 1852, in Germany. She came to America in 1854 with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Dierks. They settled on a farm west of Lyons. She married Jurgen Eggers and they lived on a farm near Andover until seventeen years ago when she moved to Clinton. She is survived by four sons, Henry and John Eggers of Andover, August and Emil of Clinton, three daughters, Mrs. Ernest Kunau of Teeds Grove, and Jerry and Miss Emma at home, 31 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren, and one brother, Peter Dierks of Clinton. Her husband, a veteran of the Civil war, preceded her in death in 1912. One daughter, Mrs. John Greve, and an infant son also preceded her in death.
