Ronald Gene Claeys

Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. today at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt.

SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

WHEATLAND — Ronald Gene Claeys, 67, of Wheatland, died Sunday at Wheatland Manor.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, DeWitt.

He was born Dec. 28, 1938, in Welton to John and Anna Hendricks Claeys. He married Trudy Tedford in May of 1973 in Davenport.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Bay of Pigs.

He lived in Houston where he worked with Deere Park Lumber.

Survivors include his daughters, Lynette Claeys of Davenport and Jeanette (Marc) Seibel of Camanche; stepdaughters, Lisa Marshall of DeWitt, Laura (Sajid) Kahn of Houston, Penny (Don) Freashour of Branson, Mo., and Ruth Ann Strong of Denver, Colo.; one stepson, John (Amy) Denahey of Aurora, Colo.; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Shirley Claeys of Welton; one and brother-in-law, Bill Walker of Welton.
