Visitation: 12:30 to 3 p.m. Thursday at Gibson and Son Funeral Home, Prophetstown, Ill.

SERVICES: 3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Following burial, the celebration of her life will continue at the Barstow Fire Department.

BARSTOW, Ill. — Nancy M. Church, 66, of Barstow, died Saturday at her home.

Burial will be in the Sharon Cemetery, rural Erie, Ill.

She was born May 7, 1940, in Rutland, Ill., to Francis and Lila Redell Stone. She married M.L. Church in 1959. They divorced in 1979.

She graduated from Prophetstown (Ill.) High School and Black Hawk College, Moline, Ill. She received a registered nursing degree.

She worked with Purina Foods, Clinton, and Volckman’s Furniture, Morrison, Ill., where she was a union steward. She also worked with Trinity Medical Center, A Plus and Gentiva. She then worked with Trinity Home Health Care where she specialized in in-home pediatrics.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Fenton, Ill., the Red Hat Society and Order of the Eastern Star. She served with the Barstow Fire Department in many ways. She was an emergency medical technician, volunteer firefighter, member of its ladies auxiliary and treasurer of the Barstow Fireman’s Association. She also taught EMT and first-responder courses for area fire departments.

Survivors include two daughters, Sandy (Jim) Gerrard of Spring Valley, Minn., and Kim (Tom) Dollieslager of Erie, Ill.; sons, Tim Church of East St. Louis, Randy Church of Erie; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mary Ann and Marion Duuck, both of Clinton, Lucy (Gene) Ryan of Morrison, Ill., and Frannie (Carlyle) Oleson of Hooppole, Ill.; and two brothers, Larry (Barb) Stone and Frank (Kathy) Stone, both of Lyndon, Ill.

A memorial fund has been established for EMTs or nursing education.

She was preceded by her parents and a sister, Judy.
