Patrick Joseph Morrissey

Visitation: 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ss. Philip and James Catholic Church, Grand Mound.

SERVICES: 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.

GRAND MOUND — Patrick Joseph Morrissey, 62, of Grand Mound, died Friday at his home.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Grand Mound.

He was born Jan. 30, 1944, in Davenport to John and Margaret Kenny Morrissey. He married Barbara Egger on June 18, 1966, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Bettendorf.

He graduated from Assumption High School, Davenport, and was a 1966 graduate of Iowa State University.

He farmed in Scott County and Grand Mound areas. He also worked at St. Ambrose University as a carpenter.

He was a member of Ss. Philip and James Church, Grand Mound. He was a former member of the Calamus Lions Club. He served on the Calamus School Board for 15 years and was a 4-H leader for the Olive Township Win or Bust 4-H Club. He was past president of the Scott County Pork Producers.

Survivors include his wife; mother, Margaret Morrissey of Davenport; children, Kathy (Aaron) Gorzney of Grand Mound, Bridget (Neal) Walsh of Fort Worth, Texas, Joe (Kristy) Morrissey of Ankeny, Anne (Chris) Jensen of Atlanta and Jim Morrissey of Eldridge; 11 grandchildren; and brothers, John Morrissey, Msgr. Michael Morrissey and Tim Morrissey, all of Davenport.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Ambrose University, Handicapped Development Center or the American Cancer Society.
