Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McDonald Funeral Home, 1002 12th Ave., Rock Falls, with the Rev. Ron Abbott officiating.

SERVICES: 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

THOMSON, Ill. — Nathan T. Fry, 50, of Thomson, died Monday at his home.

Burial and military rites will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park, Sterling, Ill.

He was born Sept. 25, 1955, in Rock Island, Ill., to John T. and Betty Foster Fry. He married Petra “Pete” Conrad on May 23, 1980, in Sterling.

He served in the U.S. Army as an MP from 1976 to 1982.

He was a police officer in Rock Falls, Fulton, Thomson and Savanna, Ill. He also served on the Illinois State Police Task Force. He owned and operated EZ-Shade Tree Movers and Riverview Store and Tap, both in Thomson.

He was an active member of the Thomson Chamber of Commerce.

Survivors include his wife; daughters, Morgan and Jamie Fry, both of Thomson; his mother, Betty Fry of Sterling; brothers, Brian (Teresa) Fry of Andalusia, Ill., and Cameron (Andrea) Fry of Sterling; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Genesis Hospice or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in his name.

He was preceded in death by his father, one brother, grandparents and one cousin.
