Visitation: 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Mount Carroll.

SERVICES: 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

MOUNT CARROLL, Ill. — Veray C. Hitz, 79, of Mount Carroll, died Saturday.

Cremation rites will be accorded.

She was born July 7, 1926, in Chicago to Michael and Katherine Krieger Collopy. She married Dr. Jim Hitz on Aug. 14, 1954, in Chicago.

Survivors include her husband; four sons, David (Colleen) Hitz of Mantsno, Ill., Leonard (Cynthia) Hitz of Forks, Wash., Paul (Julee) Hitz of Mount Carroll and John Hitz of Wilmington, Ill.; two daughters, Carla (Dr. Gary) Whitebread of Mount Carroll and Rachael (Mark) Edwards of Fairplay, Colo.; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Michael (Dorothy) Collopy of Chicago Heights, Ill., Thomas (CeCe) Collopy of Tamarac, Fla., and Donald (Dianne) Collopy of Rockford, Ill.
