Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lahey Funeral Home, Lost Nation.

SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Lost Nation, with the Rev. Keith Larson officiating.

LOST NATION — H. Bernice Gruenwald, 89, of Lost Nation, died Sunday at her home.

Burial will be in Lost Nation Cemetery.

She was born Jan. 29, 1917, in rural Clinton County to Edward and Amanda Busch Ruggeberg. She married Elroy Gruenwald on March 24, 1940, in Lost Nation. He died in 1973.

She was a 1934 graduate of Lost Nation High School and attended AIC Business School.

She was a homemaker and worked with her husband on the farm.

She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Lost Nation.

Survivors include one daughter, Lois (Alvin J.) Dohrn of Bettendorf; one son, Ron (Linda) Gruenwald of Lost Nation; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Hazel (Robert) Wazac of Cedar Rapids.
