Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. today at Carson and Son Funeral and Cremation Services, Maquoketa.

SERVICES: 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

WYOMING, Iowa — Roberta M. Saunders, 91, of Wyoming, died Thursday at the Jackson County Regional Health Center, Maquoketa.

Burial will be in Pence Cemetery, rural Baldwin.

She was born Oct. 30, 1914, in Belle Plaine to Robert C. and Bessie Blinkinsop Dixon. She married Lloyd Saunders on Jan. 1, 1939, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua.

She graduated from Belle Plaine High School. She also graduated from Belle Plaine Business College.

She worked in business offices as an office assistant in Belle Plaine, Vinton, Cedar Rapids and Maquoketa. She also farmed with her husband in the Canton area for many years before retiring to Wyoming in 1989.

She was a member of Tipton Bible Church for many years. She taught Sunday school for a number of years and was a church pianist in three different churches prior to becoming a member of Tipton Bible Church. She also was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Gideon Organization.

Survivors include her husband; sisters, Alice (Merlyn) Gahring of Newhall and Reatha Kluser of Lebanon, Ore.; sisters-in-law, Janet Dixon of Sheldon and Margaret Dixon of California; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Tipton Bible Church or the Ladies Auxiliary of the Gideon Camp of Anamosa.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
