SAVANNA, Ill. — Verna E. “Bret” Bretthauer Roe, 86, of Savanna, died Thursday at Big Meadows Nursing Home.
Cremation Rites will be accorded.
She was born Jan. 18, 1922, to Martin and Henrietta (Burke) Bretthauer. She married Francis T. Roe on Dec. 12, 1944, in Aurora, Ill.
She was a 1940 graduate of East Aurora High School.
She and her husband moved to Savanna in 1948. She was last employed as an office manager at Wood Products Inc. for 18 years.
She was a member of the Savanna Women of the Moose, the Savanna Women’s Bowling Association, Savanna Ladies Golf Association and Weight Watchers.
Survivors include her son, Kary D. (Marsha) Roe of Aurora; a grandchild; one brother, Robert (Rita) Bretthauer of Aurora; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers.
