SERVICES: 11 a.m. Friday at Oak Hill Cemetery, Mount Carroll. Frank-Law-Jones Funeral Home, Mount Carroll, is in charge of arrangements.

MOUNT CARROLL, Ill. — Joyce I. Morhardt, 76, of Mount Carroll, died Wednesday at her home.

She was born Nov. 2, 1929, to James E. and Bessie Lucille Morden Horton in Milledgevilllle, Ill. She married Dick A. Morhardt on May 17, 1967, in Mount Carroll. He died in 1995.

She attended country schools in Ogle and Carroll counties.

She was a bartender for many years in Mount Carroll.

She was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary and VFW Post 8455, Polo, Ill. She also was a member of bowling leagues.

Survivors include three sons, Delbert “Skip” (Alma) Bryson of Dixon, Ill., James H. (Carman) Bryson of Rockford, Ill., and Robert Lee (Ruth) Bryson of McLeansboro, Ill.; one daughter, Debbie (Ronald) Brashaw of Mount Carroll; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; eight stepgreat-grandchildren; three brothers, James LeRoy Horton of Austin, Texas, Harlem Eugene “Rube” Horton of Polo and Gary Lee “Butch” Horton of Winslow, Ill.; and two sisters, Connie Mae Zettle of Freeport, Ill., and Lois K. (Joe) Delacrui, Wellston, Ohio.

A memorial fund has been established in her name for the American Cancer Society.
