LeRoy C. Johannsen, 82, DeWitt died Monday at Westwing Place in DeWitt.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church in DeWitt with the Rev. Galen Drawbaugh officiating. Interment will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt. Pallbearers will be Ty, Troy, Todd and Tony Stevens and Trent and Brad Johannsen.

He was born Nov. 22, 1918, in DeWitt to Anton and Anna Werner Johannsen. He married Wilma Barker on May 3, 1940, at Grace Lutheran Church in DeWitt. She died April 3, 1995.

He farmed the Charlotte area for 40 years before moving to DeWitt. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Charlotte where he served as a collector for many years. He was also a member of the Grace Lutheran Church and the Grace Lutheran Camp Prayer Garden.

Survivors include a son Larry of DeWitt; a daughter, Mrs. Susan (Richard) Stevens of DeWitt; a sister, Thelma Nantz of DeWitt; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son, four brothers, three sisters and a grandson.
