BESSIE MAXINE ORTE
Bessie Maxine Orte, 77, of 420 5th Ave. S. died Tuesday in Mercy Hospital.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday in Clinton Chapel, Snell-Zornig Funeral Home, with the Rev. Milford A. Schmidt, Church of the Nazarene officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Sprindale Cemetery.
Mrs Orte was born June 8, 1910, in Princeton, Ill, to Chester and Lettie Campbell Parchen.
She married Raymond P. Orte, April 8, 1944, in Clinton. He died May 1977.
She attended Clinton schools and worked at Swift and Company for seven years, retiring in 1972.
Surviving include five sons, Douglas R. Orte of Clinton, Bernard Cooper of Yuma, Ariz., Charles Cooper of Kankakee, Ill. , Richard Faber of Elizabethton, Tenn. and Lloyd Noel of Galesburg, Ill: two daughters, Mrs. Jim (Barbara) Schoon of Clinton, Ill. and Gail Davis of Clinton,
18 grandchildred, and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sons, three brothers and a sister.
