ANDREW EPSEN
Andrew Epsen, 78, of 220 19th Place, died Wednesday in the veterans hospital at Iowa City. Friends may call at the Snell funeral home this evening. Services will be conducted ther at 1:30 p.m. Saturday by Rev. M.E. Lesher of the St. Paul's Lutheran church. Burial will be in Springdale cemetery. The Rev. Humphrey post, Spanish American War Veterans, will conduct a service at the funeral home.
Mr. Epsen was born Sept 19, 1873 in Holstein, Gernamy, to the late Peter and Anna Epsen, and came to the United States when a child. He served in the Spanish-American was and was married Feb 28, 1903, to Martha Kruse. He was employed in the car repair department of the North Western railroad, retiring 12 years ago. He was affiliated with the Roy Humphrey post. USWV. the German society and Wapsie Aerie F.O.E.
He is survived by his wife, three brothers, Henry of Rockford, Ill. August of Clinton, Charles of California, a sister, Mrs Peter Ohrt and several nieces and nephews. His parents, a son in infancy, one brother and one sister preceded him in death.
