Mrs Henry Ipsen, 67 of Rockford, Ill, a former Clinton resident, who for the last 18 months had been a medical patient here, died at 5:00 p.m. Sunday in Mercy hospital.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Snell Funeral Home, where the body reposes. The Rev. F.E.Schoenbohn, Pastor of Zion Lutheran church will officiate. Burial will be in Sprindale cemetery.
Lena Volkers was born April 9, 1880 in Germany, the daughter of Holm E. and Sophia Volkers. She came to America at the age of five, and on March 9 1904, She was married to Henry Ipsen here. They lived in Freeport and Rockford, Ill., until she came here for treatment in February, 1946. She was a member of the Lutheran faith and was baptized and confirmed in Zion Lutheran church.
Survivors are her husband and daughter Mrs. Roy Ashley, Chicago, three sons, Richard of Agnew, Calif. , Harry of Culver City, California and Fred of Freeport, IL., one sister, Mrs. Anna Juber, Clinton, one brother John Volkers of Rockford, and 8 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents and one sister preceded her in death.
