Henry A Schimins Sr.

The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 9 A.M. Wednesday in St. Mary's Church for Henry A. Schimins Sr, 85, of Des Moines, formerly of Clinton, who died in Des Moines Monday. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery.
The Rt. Rev Msgr. A.J. Burke will officiate. Pallbearers will be grandson. Robert Bentley, Francis Jensen, Philip Bertrand, David Bertrand, Edward Bertrand, and John Engler. Visitation will be from 7 P.M. to 9 P.M. today at the Pape funeral home where the Rosary will be recited at 7:30 P.M. today.
Mr Schimins was born July 19 ,1885 in Berlin ,Germany, son of Joseph and Francisca (Skmieczka) Schiminski. On Jan 30, 1906 ,he married Josphine Tomascheski in St. Patrick's Church, Minonk, Ill. A former member of St. Mary's Church, he retired from the Chicago North Western railroad machinist and a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Employees and International Association of Machinists.
Surviving are two sons, Joseph of Clinton and Henry Jr of Des Moines; three daughters, Mrs Andrew M. (Mary Clare) Jensen, Mrs. Cecil W. (Josephine) Bentley, and Mrs Herman (Margaret) Bertrand all of Clinton. 17 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great children. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1960 and three sisters.
