CLINTON — Carl R. Brill, 89, of Clinton, died Sunday at his home.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
He was born Aug. 4, 1916, in Springfield, Ill., to Charles and Nellie Armstrong Brill. He married Mary Ann Johnson on May 27, 1967, in Camanche.
He worked in construction for more than 50 years, most recently with Foley Construction, Clinton, before retiring in 1986.
He was a 50-year member of Iowa Laborers Union 43.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Joseph (Soledad) Brill of San Diego and Jimmy Brill of California; four stepsons, Leland (Janet) Johnson and William (Virginia) Johnson, both of Clinton, Sidney (Diane) Johnson of Thomson, Ill., and Michael Johnson of Las Vegas; one stepdaughter, Mary Lou (Bill) Williams of Palatka, Fla.; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, brother and three sisters.
