Mrs. Ferd Witt, 65, of DeWitt died early today in the local hospital, following an extended illness.

The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday in the McGinnis Funeral Home, with the Rev. Cecil Wells of the United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

Friends may call after 2:30 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

Adeline, the daughter of Emil and Dora Heldt Dammann, was born Sept. 5, 1906, at Eldridge. She married Mr. Witt, June 8, 1929, in Davenport. They farmed near DeWitt for 32 years before moving into town 10 years ago. She was a member of the DeWitt Women of the Moose.

Surviving are her husband; four sons, Henry and Edward of DeWitt, Wesley of Charlotte and Alfred of Delmar; two daughters, Mrs. Norman (Gladys) Rohwedder of New Liberty, and Mrs. Fred (June) Nordan of Lombard, Ill.; 19 grandchildren and two brothers, Melvin and Raymond of Eldridge. Her parents and four grandchildren preceded her in death.

1972
