Edward L. Krabbenhoft, 71, of DeWitt, died Monday at Mercy Hospital, Davenport. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Charlotte, with the Rev. Terry Eillis officiating. Visitation will be from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. today at Miller Funeral Home and after 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kevin and Matthew Krabbenhoft and Chris Tofanelli, who are grandsons, and Kenneth Banowetz, Jerome Reuter and Bruce Bielenberg.
Mr. Krabbenhoft was born May 16, 1919 in Preston to Harry and Luella Ringen Krabbenhoft. He married Alma Schoolman Jan. 9, 1943 in Preston.
He farmed near Charlotte until moving to DeWitt in 1980. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and his hobby was woodworking. He was a senior volunteer in DeWitt.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Elaine) Beckenbaugh of Davenport; two sons, Eugene of Princeton, Ill. and Marvin of Austin, Tex; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; a great-grandson; two sisters, Arlene Luett of Clinton and Mrs. Glen (Vera) Reints of Lindwood, Ill.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
