Marie H. Johns, 84, of 329 6th Ave. S. Clinton, died Monday at Samaritan North.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday at Lutheran Church of Atonement with the Rev. Michael C. Brewer officiating. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Camanche Chapel, Snell-Zornig Funeral Home. Burial will be in Elvira Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jeffrey, Mark, and Scott Johns, Wade, Shannon Powell, Larry McDonell, Jeffrey Block, Kevin Rockrohr and Patrick Jacobs.
Mrs. Johns was born April 17, 1906 in Calamus to Fredrick and Wilhelmina Mueller Schwartz. She married Harry Johns Jan. 7, 1926 in Clinton. He died in 1961.
She attended Calamus schools and graduated from Calamus High School in 1925. She lived most of her life in the Elvira and Clinton area and worked as a nurses aid at Mercy Hospital for 11 years.
She was a member of Lutheran Church of Atonement, the sewing circle of the church and a member of R.S.V.P.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Sharon) Powell of Camanche, Mrs. James R. (Arlene) Haring of Clinton, Mrs. Ronald (Joann) Adams of Mesa, Ariz.; three sons, Marvin E. of Broomfield, Colo., Fay H. of Bettendorf and Robert L. of Phoenix, Ariz.; 23 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son Richard who died Nov. 5, 1990, a daughter Roxanna, two granddaugthers and two sisters.
