Donald George McDonald, 85, of Delmar, died December 18, 1991 at Jackson County Public Hospital, Maquoketa.
Funeral services will be today (Saturday) at 1:30 p.m. at Schultz-McGinnis Funeral Home, DeWitt, with the Rev. Harold Koughn of Delmar United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt. Visitation was Friday, 2-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Donald McDonald was born July 11, 1906, in rural DeWitt to Clarence and Carrie Gilbert McDonald. He married Mae Swartz June 2, 1932, in Davenport.
He farmed in DeWitt Township 10 years and then moved east of Delmar, where he had farmed 30 years. He retired to Delmar in 1971.
He was educated in the rural schools and DeWitt High School.
Survivors include his wife; daughters, Elizabeth "Betty" (Mrs. Ron) Bundy of Wenatchee, Wash., and Carol (Mrs. Donald) Mattson of Indianapolis, Ind.; sons, Donald B. of rural Delmar, and John C. of rural DeWitt; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
