Patrick T. O'Connell, 70, of DeWitt, died Wednesday at his home.
The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt, with the Rev. Joseph Denning officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Schultz-McGinnis Funeral Home, DeWitt, where a scripture service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery where military rites will be conducted.
Pallbearers will be Keith Walker, Dennis Bauer, Tom and Joe O'Connell, Joseph Waack and Bob Pratt.
Honorary pallbearer will be Marvin Schnepel.
Mr. O'Connell was born Aug. 13, 1921 in Toronto, Iowa to Anthony and Marcella Dean O'Connell. He married Lucille Hardersen April 20, 1944 in Davenport.
He farmed in the DeWitt area until 1985. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the United States Army.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, DeWitt American Legion, Eugene McManus Post No. 238 and the Clinton County Farm Bureau.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Patricia Helman of Richmond Hill, Ga. and Kris O'Connell of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; a son, Alan of Dallas, Texas; two grandchildren; a brother, Gerald of DeWitt.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
Death date: October 9, 1991
