Howard T. "Mike" Sentman, 71, of Charlotte, died Tuesday at his home.
The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in Assumption Catholic Church, with the Rev. David Steinle oficiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today in Blazek Funeral Home, DeWitt, where an 8 p.m. vigil service will be conducted. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Gerhardt Grantz, Gene Burke, Roland Wiese, C.J. Hitchcock, Chuck Meyer and David LaBarr.
Honorary pallbearers will be LeRoy Rickersen, Raymond Grandig, LaVerne Chrisiansen, Richard "Tank" Scharff, Dave Marlow and Robert Diercks.
Mr. Sentman was born Aug. 2, 1919 in Coggen, Iowa to Raymond and Margaret Sholes Sentman. He married Fay A. Finch, Dec. 14, 1940, in Alexandria, La.
He retired in 1965 after 20 years in the United States Air Force. He had owned and operated Joe's Tap in Charlotte until 1983. He was a member of Assumption Catholic Church, American Legion Post 715 of Charlotte and VFW Clinton Post. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and playing cards.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Harry (Judy) Scharff of Charlotte; three grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Mary Lammede of Pasadena, Calif.
He was preceded in death by two sons and a daughter.
