Genevieve A. Knutsen, 69, of Goose Lake, died Monday in Jackson County Public Hospital.
The funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Assumption Catholic Church, Charlotte, with the Rev. David Steinle officiating. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Miller Funeral Home, Preston, where a 7:30 p.m. vigil service will be conducted. Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery, Clinton.
Pallbearers, all grandsons, will be Troy, Brad, Shawn, Todd and Jonathan Knutsen and Steve Lawrence.
Mrs. Knutsen was born August 9, 1921, in Sugar Creek, to William and Magdalena Zeiser Banowetz. She married Hans Knutsen Jr., November 25, 1943. The couple farmed in the Miles and Charlotte area. She had been employed at Clinton Engines and Bud's Super Value, both of Maquoketa, and was last employed at Country Corners in Preston. She was a member of Assumption Catholic Church, the church rosary society and card club.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Gloria) Lawrence of rural DeWitt, and Carol Knutsen of Rockford, Ill.; five sons, Theodore and Daniel, both of Clinton, Lyle of Spragueville, Gary of Woodhull, Ill., and Duane of Camanche; 19 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Marie Holdgrafer and Loretta Petersen, both of Clinton; and two brothers, Edward and Art Banowetz, both of Preston.
She was preceded in death by a son.
