Meno J. Bush

Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Fulton Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home.

SERVICES: 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Phillip Sneller officiating.

FULTON, Ill. — Meno J. Bush, 87, of Harbor Crest Nursing Home in Fulton, died Sunday at the nursing home.

Interment will be in the Fulton Township Cemetery with military graveside honors.

He was born Nov. 10, 1918, in Garden Plain, Ill., to John M. and Gertrude Hook Bush. He married Lois D. Norman on April 2, 1946, in Erie, Ill. She died in 2002.

He was educated in the Garden Plain School and Robertson School in Ustick Township.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He worked as a farmhand and then with Collis Co., Clinton. Following the Army, he was employed with Iron Workers Local 111, Rock Island, Ill.

He was a member of First Reformed Church, Fulton. He was an elder, deacon, Sunday school teacher and Sunday school treasurer for 38 years. He operated the church’s sound system and radio broadcasts. He was a member of the Fulton American Legion. He was a Hamm radio operator and held a certificate in practical electronic radio and television.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Joyce (Butch) Wilkins of Fulton; one son, Roger (Beverly) Bush of Orland Park, Ill.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Pauline Fredrickson and Mrs. Jeanette House, both of Moline, Ill., and Mrs. Dorothy (Jim) Hallenbeck of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; and two brothers, Roland (Norma) Bush of Thomson, Ill., and George (Bud) Bush of Fremont, Calif.

Memorials may be made to First Reformed Church’s Sunday school and Harbor Crest Nursing Home.
