HANOVER, Ill. — Gayle L. Eastman, 81, of Hanover, died Tuesday at the Elizabeth (Ill.) Nursing Home.

Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Hanover.

She was born Oct. 24, 1924, in Savanna, Ill., to Robert and Leona Helbling Gilman. She married Charles J. Eastman on May 17, 1947, in Monmouth, Ill. He died in 2003.

She graduated from Savanna High School in 1942.

She was a lineworker from 1968 until 1973 for Eaton Manufacturing, Hanover.

She was a member of United Presbyterian Church and the Presbyterian Women.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Nancy (LeRoy) Wernet of Winslow, Ill., and Mrs. Karen (Robert) Cliff of Hanover; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Bill (Rita) Gilman of Savanna; and one sister-in-law, Vivian Gilman of Savanna.
