Harry “Bud” Allen Lieferman

Clinton, Iowa

March 21, 1927 - March 25, 2006

Harry “Bud” Allen Lieferman, 79, of Clinton was called home to be with our loving Lord and Savior Saturday at Eagle Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in the arms of his wife and surrounded by his family.

Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Clinton Snell Zornig Funeral Home, where a 6:00 p.m. parish vigil service will be conducted.

Services: 10:30am Thursday at Prince of Peace, Sacred Heart Catholic Church

Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Michael, Matthew J., Shane, Ryan and Michael (Cameron) Lieferman Scott Meyers, Justin Foley and Jason Young.

He was born March 21,1927, in Moline, Illinois to Harry W. and Lucille H. (Hamlin) Lieferman. He married Mary Ann Willems on October 14, 1947 they had three sons Alan (Deb) Lieferman, Clinton, Steven (Mary) Lieferman, Hopedale, Illinois and Mark Lieferman. He later, married Patricia (Trish) Rogers, September 22, 1962 they had one son Matthew (Donna) Lieferman, Camanche.

He graduated from Coal Valley High School in 1944 then went on to serve proudly in the United States Army during World War II. Harry retired from Nabisco Brands in 1982. Owned and operated the Double LL Bar & Grill in Preston, Iowa and then went on to serve as Weigh Master for the Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce until he took ill in May 2005.

He was a member of Jesus Christ Prince of Peace Parish and American Legion Post 602, Preston. He coached the first little League team in the city of Clinton that included a female player and spent several years as the KWQC TV 6 Skywatcher for the Clinton area.

Harry was a devoted Christian, a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, gardening, wood working and was an avid Cub and Hawkeye fan.

Survivors include his wife, Trish, sons, Alan, Steven, Mark and Matthew, ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren as well as his sister-in-law Sharla (Steven) Young whom he lovingly raised through her teen-age years as his daughter.

His parents preceded him in death.

Memorials may be made to the family.
