Visitation: There was no visitation. The Hood Funeral Home and Crematory, Crossville, Tenn., was in charge of arrangements.

Services: 10 a.m. today at St. Francis Catholic Church.

FAIRFIELD GLADE, Tenn. — Frank Kimball, 86, of Fairfield Glade, died Tuesday.

There will be an honor guard of Knights of Columbus and a military salute prior to interment.

He was born in Clinton to Harry and Eileene Murphy Kimball.

He retired to Fairfield Glade in 1975.

He was a founding member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. He was an active fourth-degree member of the Father Gabriel Council of the Knights of Columbus. He was a Knights of Columbus member for 61 years. In 1960, he helped build St. James the Apostle Catholic Church, Seminole, Texas. He was a member of the Kimball Family Society.

He served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corps, primarily in Italy. He was awarded the Victory Medal, American Theatre, European, African and Middle Eastern Theatre ribbons, Bronze Battle Stars, Overseas Bar, Service Stripe and Good Conduct Medal.

He was employed with the U.S. Postal Service and retired as a supervisor after 30 years.

Survivors include one daughter, Francene of Knottsville, Ky.; one son, Tom (Marie) Gallatin; five grandchildren; and three nieces.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Tennessee Volunteers for Life, 4802 Charlotte Ave., Nashville, TN 37209-3412 or the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601-7633.
