Hold Funeral Services for P. DRESLER

The funeral of the late Peter DRESLER was held from the home on Friday at 2 o'clock. The Rev. W. H. Anderson of the United Presbyterian church conducted the services and Mrs. E. L. Conover and Miss Frances Fish sang two psalms.

The remains were interred in Elmwood cemetery, the bearers of the pall being, W. D. Wendt, M. F. Kearney, J. F. Homer, Henry Wulf, Al Smith of Bliedorn and Chris Jensen of Grand Mound.

The funeral was very largely attended by relatives and friends.

Peter DRESLER was born in Rinkoeben, Denmark, in 1850. At the age of 19 years he came to America and 7 years later returned to his old home in Denmark, after which he returned to America.

In 1877 he was united in marriage with Miss Hannah ROTITZ of Grand Mound, where he then resided. Soon after their marriage the young couple moved to a farm and continued in that line of work until 10 years ago, when they moved to their present home in DeWitt, Iowa.

Four children were born to Mr. and Mrs. DRESLER, all of whom are living.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Anna MOHR of Hampton, Illinois, three sons, John W. of Lost Nation, Iowa, Albert of Chokio, Minnesota, and Clarence of DeWitt, Iowa. He is also survived by four grand children, two brothers, Fred DRESLER of DeWitt, and Michel DRESLER, who lives in Denmark, and one sister, Sophia SIDANEOUS, also of Denmark.

Mr. DRESLER was taken ill suddenly on Friday, September 14, and on eht following Tuesday was taken to Jane Lamb hospital, Clinton, where he underwent an operation from the effects of which he failed to rally and passed away on Wednesday morning, September 19 at the age of 73 years and 22 days.

The deceased was a valued member fo the Danish Lutheran church, a model husband and father, a kind neighbor and an excellent citizen who commanded the highest respect in which he has lived.
