Ruth Stump

Ruth Frances Stump, 84, of 1502 South Coolidge died Thursday March 9, 2006, at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City

Funeral service will be held 2 P.M. Monday (March 13, 2006), at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel 126 3rd Street N.E. Mason City, with Pastor Thomas Healey officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.

Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 P.M. –4 P.M. at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel 126 3rd Street N.E. Mason City.

Memorials may be directed to Hospice of North Iowa.

Ruth Frances Whitson was born July 23, 1921,in Waterloo, the daughter of Thomas E. and Blanche M. (King) Whitson.

Ruth graduated Mason City High School in 1939. Ruth was united in marriage to Virgil Stump on May 4, 1945, together they raised 8 children.

Ruth loved bird watching, bowling, camping, gardening, and baking. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Ruth’s greatest love was raising her children and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Larry (Laurene) Stump, Mesa, Arizona, Betty Kidd, Lorane, Oregon, Beatrice Potts, Cleveland, Georgia, Tom (Nancy) Stump, Clear Lake, Faye Ranc, Mason City, and Jay Stump, Mason City, 18 Grandchildren, and 32 Great-Grandchildren, special friend Margo Hicok, Nora Springs, along with other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, Donald and Ray Stump, brother William Whitson, grandsons, Loren Stump, Rickey Demsien, and Bruce Thompson.
