Alice Bastian

Alice B. Bastian, 82, of Hanover, Ill., died Wednesday at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center, Elgin, Ill.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Hanover United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Hanover. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Hanover.

She was born Dec. 6, 1923, in Galena, Ill., to Arthur and Cora Young Beadle. She married Orville W. Bastian on Aug. 8, 1943, at Galena United Methodist Church. He died in 1989.

She retired from the Savanna Army Depot in 1988 after working as an inventory specialist and dispatcher. She first worked there during World War II.

She was a member of Hanover VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Savanna Moose Lodge 1095 and National Association of Retired Federal Employees.

Survivors include three children, Jack Bastian of Hazel Green, Wis., Mrs. V-Ann (David) Howard of Elgin, Ill., and Bob (Jolene) Bastian of Hanover; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
