Lester P. Huebner

CLINTON — Lester P. Huebner, 80, of Clinton, died Monday at his home.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Pape Funeral Home, Clinton. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Sabula with military rites conducted by the Sabula V.F.W.

Pallbearers will be Robert Everson, Mike Kalmes, Robert Baughman, Johnny Luther and Thomas Huebner.

He was born April 26, 1925, in Clinton to Emil and Minnie Hoehne Huebner.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II with the 516th Military Police Company, stationed in Oahu, Hawaii.

He was a yard manager with the Clinton Block Co./Kings Materials before retiring in 1984.

He was a member of the Sabula V.F.W.

Survivors include his companion, Millie Phillips, with whom he shared his home; two daughters, Mrs. Peggy (Robert) Everson of Clinton and Mrs. Theresa (Mike) Kalmes of Dubuque; four sons, Lindus Huebner of DeWitt, Dan (Luann) Huebner of Clinton, Dale (Vera) Huebner of Hurst, Texas, and Jessie Huebner of Clinton; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Maxine (Alvin) Marburger of Sabula; and one brother, Ervin (Elaine) Huebner of LeClaire.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two grandchildren.
