GENESEO, Ill. — Shirley L. Schmoll 70, of Geneseo, died Saturday at Genesis Medical Center, west campus, Davenport.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, rural Geneseo. The Rev. Robert Woods will be officiating. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo. There will be a potluck luncheon at the Winner’s Circle, Geneseo. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Vandemore Funeral Home LTD., Geneseo, where Don Cherry Post 5083 Women’s Auxiliary will have a memorial service at 5:30 p.m.

She was born Dec. 29, 1935, in Geneseo to Earl and Mildred Radue Hornecker. She married Loren Schmoll on June 12, 1957, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, rural Geneseo.

She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, rural Geneseo; VFW Auxiliary and St. John’s Ladies Aid.

Survivors include her husband; five children, Bonnie Stanley of Geneseo, Andy Schmoll of Geneseo, Todd (Kathy) Schmoll of Clinton, Cory (Emily) Schmoll of McFarland, Wis., and Tracy (Terry) Rands of Bettendorf; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Shirley Schmoll Memorial Fund.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
