Larry A. Elgin Sr.

Larry A. Elgin Sr., 59, of Macon, died Sunday at his home.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Hutton and McElwain Funeral Home, Macon, with the Revs. Gordy Welch and Denny Lorton officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Salem Cemetery, Excello, Mo. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

He was born Oct. 1, 1946, in Moline, Ill., to Milton Rider and Rita Beth Lea Elgin. He married Wilma Taylor on Nov. 19, 1999, in Fulton, Ill. He moved to Macon in 2000.

He was a member of King of Kings Church, Macon.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Lawrence E. Elgin Jr. of Morrison, Ill., Christopher E. Elgin of Wonder Lake, Ill., Elvis Elgin of Macon and Andrew Elgin of Kewanee, Ill.; one daughter, Rebecca Elgin of Mount Vernon, Ill.; four stepdaughters, Cindy Jackson of Springfield, Ohio, Linda Mitchell of Macon, Judy Sanchez of Tulsa, Okla., and Michelle Houzenga of Wheatland; one stepson, Rober Mowery Jr. of Clinton; three grandchildren; 18 stepgrandchildren; 15 stepgreat-grandchildren; and two brothers, Robert Elgin of Baltimore, Md., and Ernie Elgin of Lanark, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and one daughter.

Death date: Feb. 26, 2006
