Daniel J. Petrehn

SENECA, Ill. — Daniel J. Petrehn, 50, of Seneca and formerly of Charlotte, died Monday at his home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Assumption Catholic Church, Charlotte, with the Rev. David Brownfield and Deacon Mike Shields officiating. Burial will be in the Assumption Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Clinton Chapel Snell-Zornig Funeral Home and Crematory.

Pallbearers will be Steve White, Jon Bergmann, Leonard Koch, Ernst Schulz, Bill Heiar and Gene Christiansen.

He was born April 14, 1955, in Clinton to James and Doris Huebner Petrehn.

He was a 1973 graduate of Northeast High School.

He was employed with Caterpillar, Davenport; Petersen Painting, Charlotte; and for the last 15 years was a painter in Joliet, Ill., for Local Painter Union 33.

Survivors include his fiancee and her son with whom he shared his home, Karin Kosters and Joe Kosters, both of Seneca; two sons, Brian Petrehn of Camanche and Joey Petrehn of Clinton; one daughter, Mrs. Jennifer (Kyle) Golomowski of Marion; one grandchild; his mother, Doris Petrehn of Camanche; one stepson, James Rowan of Clinton; four sisters, Mrs. Christy (Steve) White of Goose Lake, Mrs. Cathy (Jon) Bergmann of Clinton, Mrs. Marie (Leonard) Koch of Whitewater, Wis., and Mrs. Laura (Ernst) Schulz of Miles; and several nieces and nephews.

The family requests that memorials be made to the family.

He was preceded in death by his father and one daughter.
