CLINTON — Karen Elaine Johnsen, 64, of Clinton, died Saturday at Meadowlawn Health Care Facility, Davenport.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church. The Rev. Larry Carter will be officiating. Burial will be in St. Irenaeus Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lemke Funeral Homes, South Chapel, 2600 Lincoln Way.

Pallbearers will be Tom Kuelper, Lenny Kuelper, Mike Green, John Robinson, Linda Huizenga and Miranda Johnsen.

She was born July 29, 1941, in Davenport to Leo Rolf and Alice Mary Forari Keto. She married Leonard L. Kuelper Sr. and later married Terrence Johnsen.

She was a 1959 graduate of Rock Island (Ill.) Senior High School. She graduated from the School of Nursing, Chicago, in 1962.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Women of the Moose, Daisey and Brownie leader at Elijah Buell Elementary School and taught Vacation Bible School at Calvary Baptist.

She was a nurse for more than 30 years working in several nursing homes and hospitals in the Dubuque area.

Survivors include two daughters, Alicia Hall and Miranda Johnsen, both of Clinton; two sons, Leonard “Lenny” Kuelper and Thomas (Lori) Kuelper, both of Clinton; one adopted daughter, Linda Huizenga of Camanche; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two adopted grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, grandparents and one brother.

Death date: Feb. 25, 2006
