Michael Hanrahan, who resides near Charlotte, was coming to this city, on a freight train last Friday evening, when he was quite painfully injured. The car was filled with passengers, when some ladies entered and Mr. Hanrahan politely arose to give then his seat he was occupying, and while he was standing the air brakes were applied suddenly, throwing Mr. Hanrahan against the stove and rendering him partially unconscious. Hon. George C. Hebering was on the train at the time and went to the man’s assistance, and cared for him until the train reached this place, when he took him to the Sabula House, and Dr. H. J. Leigh was summoned and also the company surgeon Dr. C. H. Searle, who examined him and found one rib on his left side, his left arm and his left shoulder quite badly bruised. Mr. Hanrahan was a resident of this place about seventeen years ago, and was on his way here to spend a few days in visiting among his former acquaintances. He is still at the Sabula House and is recovering nicely from his injuries. – Sabula Gazette.
