The Clinton Herald Wednesday January 31, 1996 p. 5 Gertrude Seamer of 524 3rd Ave. N., Clinton, will celebrate her 80th birthday with an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4 at St. Irenaeus Hall, 2811 N. 2nd. Relatives and friends are invited. It is requested that gifts be omitted. Mrs. Seamer was born Feb. 4, 1916, in Clinton, to Mr. and Mrs. J.F. McDevitt. She married Gearhart Seamer, Dec. 27, 1938, in Clinton. He died May 18, 1981. She is the mother of four children: Mariann Whorf of Colfax, Iowa; Carlie Seamer of Sabula; Theresa O'Brien of Palatine, Ill.; and Steve Seamer of Dubuque. She has 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Seamer worked for 22 years at Nielsen's. She is a member of the Daughters of Isabella and the Prince of Peace Card Club. She enjoys playing cards and babysitting for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
